New shirts – hot off the press
May 3rd
We have some awesome new shirts that came out of the sublimation press. Literally hot pressed we print our shirts in house, designed in house with pride.
While we’re no high end fashion designers, we did pick up some super comfy friendly fitting shirts. They are a 50/50 cotton polyester blend that makes an awesome base layer when riding. The “cush” shirts are a little softer to pamper that sensitive beer belly.
$15 for the white regular shirts, $20 for the Cush model.

The new “Pop and Play”
Nov 28th
Purpose
The “Pop and Play” is our affordable, easy to ride, workhorse. It utilizes a flat camber profile with for a flex that feels true in ollies and through turns. Other camber options are tensioned for flex to change behavior between stiff and springy to soft and buttery. We keep the Pop and Play strictly purposeful to be a stronger, longer lasting deck so we put in our rubberized 80A urethane sidewalls to endure the harshest shock and awe you can dish.
2012/13 Season at the Prospect Snowboard Factory
Sep 17th

Holy Shit…. It has been a ton of work getting this snowboard factory ready to press a large stack of boards for this season. We’re building for a few brands and have already have some awesome projects (You many witness me testing out a snowbike this year). Already caught up in the race for new rad ideas to stay ahead of what the big guys offer, we have put our own twist on what makes a top performing board. This is what going down…
New Shapes
We still have last years mid-wide park boards with a steep sidecut. This solution made a lazy turning wide board into a gnarly carving, no toe drag, freakshow of awesome.
New Dual Camber-Rocker Design is our latest development. Camber between the feet, rocker outside. We think this is the best combination because it adds a pressure point at the bindings during turns for better grip in icy conditions. This camber gives the board power and stability for high performance riding while the rocker offers powder flotation and a platform on the tip and tail that is great for rail jibs and flatland butters.
This year we added in shapes for the aggressive freestyle rider. These new shapes have a tighter turn radius that will stop spins on a dime. Also a thinner core profile that lets us reinforce with more assertive carbon fiber rather than heavy wood. The result is a lighter board for all around performance in the park and backcountry.

We are working with snowboard racing coaches in the area for our first GS/Boardercross/All mountain Alpine board. These boards will be offered in 2 sizes to start.

New Materials
Urethane Sidewalls – Think rubber, like the eraser on your pencil. Flexible, bash proof, and chewy. That’s our sidewalls. We actually we made them a little harder for abrasion resistance. This adds in smoother turns with less chatter and sticks to the other materials better than the clingiest girlfriend, so no delamination.
Faster bases – Iso 7200 sintered – Its Austrian. These bases are some of the fastest and toughest bases available. This grade of base is usually used for racing, we put this into all of our boards.
New Graphics
We’ve simplified our line of graphics. I’ll fully disclose, I Neil Henderson, am no Salvador Dali. For this year I’ve posted a modification to a graphic favorite i didn’t get to press last year, simply called the “Team Graphic” Inspired by hot rod culture, the colors are simple, a few pin stripes create the board feel.
This plan this year is to utilize some up and coming artists that have spent a ton of time into creating a high quality snowboard artwork for us. We’ll be posting these as special edition works with limited availability through the season.

We hope you come see the factory this year when passing through town. We’ll be happy to give you a quick tour and you can get a factory tune on the way up to the hill. Cheers!

Prospect starts manufacturing snowboards in Madison Wisconsin
Jul 14th
Prospect is excited to announce the opening of our new factory and with that we’re stoked to introduce our new press, Elvis Presssley. He’s one of the only presses in the Midwest and keeps things hot. We’ll be inside the top ten U.S. manufacturers within the first year. To get off the ground, we’re colabing with Monson Snowboards based in California to deliver high end aspen/bamboo cores to our line of boards, customs, shop, and factory decks.
To go with Prospect’s theme of awesome, we have some fresh board shapes to go with the solid standards. Our new dual camber shapes still have the easy ride of reverse camber with the pop of regular camber. Our C6 board has serrated edges for grip on ice and to keep the edges sharp. Along with these we have regular, reverse and flat camber designs.
One of the many, many, many, many, sick things about Prospect is our ability to cater to you. For riders, we have the ability to take your board graphic dreams and make them legit. Think about it. Cruising through the park hitting bangers with your own graphics. You’re already ten times more rad just thinking about it. For shops and small brands, we have the ability to create short runs of custom boards with graphics to fit what your need. We cater to you with on time shipment of high quality awesome products.
New Propsect Intern Mollie Sorensen
Jul 14th
Prospect is stoked to introduce a new intern to the mix. Mollie Sorensen is a Madison local. When she isn’t enjoying long walks on the beach or finishing crossword puzzles you can probably find Mollie at a local skatepark, lake or mountain.
She’s excited to help the fresh team at Prospect support board-sports and the shred community however she can. Stop in to Rich’s Board Sports and say hey. While you’re at it, peep our sweet merch.
U-Dub Camber concept
Jul 6th
The 2011/12 season’s camber concept currently dubbed “U-Dub camber” with progressively aggressive shaping. Here’s how it works:
Our U-Dub Camber is reverse in the middle and plateaus outside the bindings. The reverse to flat camber offers increased pop over its reverse camber sibling. The plateau created on the tip and tail offers more pop than a reverse camber and still raises edges off he ground so U-Dub Camber butters just like a reverse camber. The flattened tip and tail increase the contact points when the board us loaded so your edges act like a rudder for stability on landings and high speed. We’ve been working on making boards that will perform for all ride types because an easy to ride, buttery board, that will still grip on landings, and carves well means you only need one board for your quiver.
Also new with our 2011/12 line of U-Dub camber decks is Progressive shaping architecture. This new design element is for riders who differentiate their shorter boards to be more aggressively shaped than longer boards. The camber shaping is more aggressive on shorter boards for better freestyle performance while longer boards have a relaxed camber profile for high speed stability and turning. Our progressive shaping also takes rider size into consideration. Our aggressively shaped shorter decks are easier to maneuver for shorter riders, new riders, and core freestyle riders. Our longer U-Dub Camber decks have a more relaxed profile that will give bigger riders a board with a flex pattern that isn’t too forgiving and other riders a very smooth and stable deck for high speed turning.
U-Dub camber is currently under development, but is anticipated to be in sizes 151, 155, and 159 cm. It will use an array of carbon stringers and kevlar dampeners which we will be introducing later this summer.

The New Prospect Snowboard Factory Scheduled to Open Summer 2011
Apr 20th
The build process for the Prospect Snowboards Manufacturing Facility in Madison Wisconsin is underway. We’ve got some stellar plans to create awesome snowboards for people who want to ride their own hand built Prospect, their own custom board, or who are interested in small/underground snowboard brands.
First off, let me say that building this factory is a major production. A snowboard press isn’t something that you can go buy. You can’t toss a search through Google and have one sent to your house. These things are hand built and engineered. That said we planned our factory to use 95% reclaimed materials. We’re all about beating the heat to keep the snow and by recycling what is already made to cut down on our energy, global warming, and waste footprint.
The factory build gives Prospect a huge leg up in building high quality, high performance, technologically advanced snowboards. With us in the drivers seat we have creative control and access to changing our boards blueprint on the fly. This is rad because it lets us give Prospect Riders access to awesome boards, a custom snowboard service, and even a build experience for the hardcore riders.
More on custom snowboards. Why ride the same thing that is available for everyone? For the rider who tells themselves: It would be so Fackin rad if there was a snowboard with “this type of graphic”. We’ve got you covered. Our creative control allows you to change up the graphic, construction, and materials in what will become your board. If a custom snowboard is right up your alley, ask about the “Snowboard Builders Experience” which gives you access to our factory to build your board with the aid of a pro factory builder.
Prospect snowboards will also be collaborating with small, underground snowboards brands across the U.S. If you want something new, from a brand that comes from a core set of riders, you’ll want to see what brands we’re featuring.
One last thing…
If you are a Madison local, come down to Rich’s Board Shop to see the progress through the summer.
