Purpose
The Tangent RC6 is the most technical deck in the Prospect line and combines our Tangent Technology with C6 Edge Tech. The lighter and thinner core in RC6 carries a soft flex while the C6 Edge Tech keeps the reverse camber deck stable at high speeds making it an excellent board to butter up the slope even for aggressive riders. The Tangent RC6 is a jib board and transitions into a stable park board.
Materials
- Bamboo Core Stingers – Bamboo has 4 times the burst strength of aspen incredible pop on airs. The stronger bamboo lays on the outside laminates of the core to make a more assertive carve while dampening the effective edge of the board for awesome stability.
- RC6 edge is a shaped edge that offers 6 points of contact along the effective edge for better grip through turns and up the pipe wall.
- ABS Sidewalls Our sidewalls have a faster turn speed and work together with our bamboo core stringers to make a more stable snowboard.
- 19oz triax with carbon X beams is the perfect combination for high strength and weight savings. Our Carbon fiber is a Pretensioned and pre-impregnated weave that gives this reverse camber deck power and pop.
- Aspen Extreme – A more relaxed flex than the Sooperpark and a dash stiffer than the RC6 the Tangent RC makes a reverse camber deck that will live up to the power that expert riders need. The vertically laminated aspen wood core is the key material in making a light weight deck with predictable flex.
- American made materials – Prospect uses as much American made and green materials as possible. Aside from being manufactured in the U.S.A. our cores, bases, fiberglass, and epoxy are all made stateside. Also, bamboo isn’t only amazing for performance, it also is a highly renewable resource and is more environmentally friendly than P-tex and ABS Plastic.
- Pretensioned/Prepreg Carbon- Pretensioned means maximum spring with half the weight. The Pretensioned weave is stretched out to its strongest point and planted in an X array inside the tip and tail. This is your answer to your dead board that has lost it’s pop.
Shape
- Sound Short? – We made this a wide board that keeps stability even when big riders ride short boards. The 147 is good for boot sizes 8 and less, the 150 from size 8 to 10, 153 up to 11, and the 155 good for sizes 11+.
- RC6Unlike other waved edge patterns that slip out the RC6 has a Flat camber in the middle of the board to stabilize turns by adding edge surface area between the feet. The mid-wide width provides a sidcut that turns sharp with no toe drag even on larger boots.
- Reverse Camber Profile -The Tangent RC uses a relaxed reverse camber that offers the package of being able to turn well, float on powder, and tear up the park. With more Reverse camber the board becomes unstable, less means the board isn’t as playful.
- Extended Effective Edge (EEE) – To stabilize our boards in the park when really pushing the speed limit Prospect boards stay in control because we have lenthened the effective edge. This means a longer contact patch and more edge contacts the surface so there are no worries about getting squirrelly and tomahaking after the drop.
- Wide Footprint – Better stability + less toe drag = Nice. The wide tip and tail allows bigger riders to ride smaller boards, effectively having less weight to maneuver with. Finally you’ll get that 90 this year.
- True Twin Freestyle Snowboard – The True twin shape of Prospect snowboards is built to work with the carbon fiber X beams built into the tip and tail. With a centered it is a freestyle deck with even pop. Setting the stance back for powder and freeride decreases the amount of carbon past your back foot and increases the amount of carbon in front of you. This gives a little more flex in back to float on powder and stiffness up front for stability. Our true twin decks exclusively have this engineering built in.
